Totally 136 strains of silkworms were conserved and propagated by regular procedure every year. Eggs of 19,000,000 were hatched and propagated in 2013. The percentage of strong fluorescent cocoons of A, B, and C strains was 100% after breeding for 5 generations. The breeding for 100% fluorescent cocoons was achieved. For special phenotype breeding the percentage of stripped silkworms (stripped strain, ursa strain, multi-lunar strain, tiger-stripped and translucent strain) were more than 74.25% after 2nd backcross which suggested the breeding strategy was effective.
