Studies of antagonistic yeast on preservation of organic orange fruit against postharvest diseases

To regulate and stable the market of oranges in Taiwan, current method used for preservation is a pre-treatment with chemical fungicides for 3~5 months. The aim of this study is to select antagonistic yeast to biological control the posthavest diseases of oranges. The diseases pathogens and the antagonistic yeast strains were isolated from orange and soil in orchard, respectively. The antagonistism were analyzed between the each disease and selected yeast strain. Furthermore, the isolates of antagonistic yeast will be tested for the effect of biological control on the postharvest diseases in orange fruits
