Duration of nymph stage of stinkbugs (Eocanthecona furcellata wolff) was 36-45 days, and the adult stage was above 35 days under the cool temperature of 10-15℃. The oviposition for female stinkbugs was few and the hatching percentage was only 13.3%. Low activity and high lethal percentage during nymph stage were observed in stinkbugs. Therefore, further subcultures of stinkbugs were failed. The predation ability of stinkbugs in fourth instar was surveyed on the larva of butterfly (Pieris rapae crucivora) after 12 hours' predation under the 10-15℃. It was found that the predation ability of stinkbugs decreased upon the preys' growing. Temperature lower than 12℃ decreased the predation activity of stinkbugs. We released the stinkbugs in the orchard located on 800 m above sea level in order to select the cold-tolerant races of stinkbugs in this year. The results indicated that the released stinkbugs had predative activities on the domestic Lepidoptera pests, such as Spodoptera litura, Plutella xylostella, Lymantriidae and Limacodidae. It also indicated that we could select some survival stinkbugs under cold environment.
